Personal Message from Hope
Slainte Mhath (to your good health)! I am delighted to send you greetings from my farm in historic Dumfriesshire, Scotland.Â
My name Hope Vere Anderson has been passed along to the first born male child in my family generation after generation. I wear the name proudly, just as I am proud of my Scottish heritage and of Scotland herself. There is nothing more gratifying than fellowship with folk and kinfolk who share a common passion for family and heritage.
Baronage
I am the Baron and holder of the Dignity of the Barony of Bannockburn, Stirlingshire, Scotland (thus the two feathers in my bonnet), and I am the Lord of Sheriffhales, Shropshire, England by descent from the Veres of Castle Hedingham.
Clan Anderson
I was elected Chieftain by the Clan Anderson Society in 1989. By the grace of God I look forward to many fruitful years ahead serving as the Ceremonial Chieftain.Â
Scottish Tartans Museum and Heritage Skills Academy, Paisley, Scotland
I invite you all to join me as I am embarking on an exciting, long-overdue project in Paisley, Scotland: a Scottish Tartans Museum and Heritage Skills Academy. It is my plan to transform my historic landmark building, designed by architect Thomas Graham Abercrombie, into a culture and heritage centre for use by the public. I believe all Scottish Clans will wish to sponsor an exhibit featuring their unique heraldry, tartans, artifacts, and family ancestors, enabling global visitors to learn and view first hand more about Scottish history and heritage.
Society of Antiquaries of Scotland
I am a Fellow and Honorary Secretary North American Affairs to the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, with my grandfather (of seven generations earlier) being a Founding Father of the Society along with co-founder Sir Walter Scott in 1780. Queen Elizabeth II was the official Patron of the royal Society until her untimely death, at which time King Charles III has continued in her footsteps as Patron of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
My friends, I invite you to reach out me, as I will be delighted to talk with you, share ideas, and accept the honour of knowing you. hopevere@hopevereanderson.com.
